It's raining right now. I'm sitting on my bed - well, half-lying, propped up on pillows - listening to music off the network, with my window open and my fan at my feet, the cord stretching from the desk plug because the computer is plugged into the one above the bed. There was thunder and lightening earlier, which doesn't happen a lot here. I'm wearing underwear and a polo shirt; clearly I am the epitome of fashion, but then again, it's hot.
I turned in my last paper yesterday and then ate kiwi and mango in celebration. Tomorrow my to-do list reads as follows:
1) Say goodbye to Joyce! She's leaving for Singapore tomorrow and there's a pretty good possibility that I'll never see her again, so I need to make sure and hug her hard.
2) Return books to Rowden Wright
3) Return DVDs to Rowden Wright
4) Return books to the Bailleau Library
5) Pick up travel documents from STA Travel. I can't forget again.
6) Visit Victoria? She's at RMIT and they have a pool, and did I mention it got hot?
7) I'm pretty sure I had a seven when I started.
8) Maybe go out with Fitzy and Co.
As to what I've been doing, here's the text (from a letter I wrote to a friend) of my last weekend before essays took over.
"...so I walked down to Victoria's apartment and we set off for this:

Isn't facebook fun?
Flinders Street Station is THE big train station in Melbourne and is, shall we say, pretty obvious.
After killing some time on the bridge over the Yarra, we met up with a friend of Victoria's, Laura. we went down and took up a position. We decided just standing would be silly and were worried about the blood to our brains were we to do headstands.
So we did this for five minutes without moving one. single. muscle.
It was SO MUCH FUN. The second the clock hit seven, the station went dead silent.
Five minutes later we unfroze, and Victoria and I headed to dinner with Josh, who we ran into at Flinders. Which was yummy. Then we got icecream. Mmm. We walked out of the CBD telling stories. Then we sat around in Victoria's room and talked. I'm meeting her in the morning to go to the Melbourne Cup. KICK. ASS."
And yes, we did in fact go to the races. The horses were very pretty.
Neither of us won any money, but we had a picnic and admired the dresses, and were happy.
Moving right along!

TaliaFalcon: I have an idea for my Junior IS! I’m reading “The Graveyard Book” right now, by Neil Gaiman, and it’s a parallel to “The Jungle Book”. I was thinking of looking at what differs wildly and what is exactly the same, and why, and how it adds to the differing outcomes of the books. And why the role of Baloo has been removed, and also try present arguments for whether Silas is Bagheera or Akela, and if he’s not Akela, then who the hell IS?
TaliaFalcon: I am an English nerd.
TaliaFalcon: Alternately I may be looking at orphans in literature.

I know where I’m living next semester and who with! Elena. She’s in Women of Dene. And apparently my house is really awesome. That’s what Ellie (the girl I'm replacing) says. Huge downstairs, fun people, nice spaces. Occasional bats.

From when I should have been writing an essay, sitting at High Table in the Dining Hall watching people.
People that I can see from here: Kat with the red hair, Charlie who was the coach for footy and hockey, Hannah with the 4300 word but should be 2000 word essay, Aditi, Xanthe, Shannon, Steph, Gemma. The Americans. Matt Kessler. Kerri.
Long entry is long. I'm going to bed.
