Pantoum

"And They Roared..." is being submitted to a lit mag! So it's being pulled.

And a bonus

BONUS SILLY POEM.

Dear Ms. Bersani -

Distopias this week have been our reigning theme; I'm sure
you've watched your daughter working on her project
to construct a perfect self-contained society.

She and Emily Hartig were scheduled to present today,
as I'm sure you know. I just wanted to inform you
that I am somewhat concerned with the content of her speech.

When asked how her society, which was built
on an island with no land in sight, would go about
punishing those who did wrong, your daughter explained

that they'd be put on a raft with three day's worth
of food and set adrift, let God and nature take its course,
even though land was a good week's steady sail away.

Ms. Bersani, I admit concern; Grace was so very cavalier
about this punishment, the harshest in the class.
I would recommend you speak to her. Sincerely --
